Happy New Year!

Well this last week was pretty busy! We had a lot of things to do, but it all went well! We had an activity as a zone on the 25th and it all worked out really well. We were able to feel the spirit, have a little fun and in the end be more united as a zone, which was the goal of this activity in the first place. During the activity we were able to go sing in the OCC (bus station)  for a bunch of people and it was a good experience. Although we didn't sing very well we could feel the spirit which is what mattered. When we got into the OCC we all stood in our 3 different districts in the bus station and started singing. As we sang we started walking toward one another and all got together by this big Christmas tree they had there. You can just imagine the faces of all the people there haha.

On Saturday we had our Blanca Navidad baptismal devotional. We were only able to get 2 baptisms, but the devotional turned out really well. All of the members said that they loved it! There were about 110 members that came which was outstanding.

President Figueroa is working well with us and we are making some good plans for the commence of this new year of 2016.

I am excited to start this new year. My new years resolution is to love my Heavenly Father with all my heart, might, mind and soul! I am filled with gratitude to know that my heavely father has given me another year of life! Ive learned a lot in this year and hope to learn much more this coming year. 2015 was my full year of service to the Lord so i will always remember it.

As I was reflecting on this year I truly have come to know my savior Jesus Christ. One of my favorite hymns says the following,

"They heard His voice, a voice so mild; It pierced them through and made their souls to quake; They saw Him come, a man in white, The Savior who had suffered for their sake.

They felt the wounds in hands and side, And each could testify; This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the holy Son of God, Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.

This is the Christ, the healer of our souls Who ransomed us with love divine. I read His words, the words He prayed While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane; I feel His love, the price He paid. How many drops of blood were spilled for me? With saints of old in joyful cry I too can testify;

This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the holy Son of God, Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. This is the Christ, the healer of our souls. Who ransomed us with love divine".

I too bare my testimony that Jesus IS the Christ.
Have a happy new year everyone!

Feliz Navidad and Merry Christmas!

This Christmas season will be by far the best I've had in my life. I am so grateful to be a missionary and have the opportunity to testify of my savior this Christmas season. The spirit is strong. My testimony grows each time I feel the presence of the spirit. I loved the talk last week in the temple dedication of "santificacion".

The spirit of Christ is potent this week and it is helping us acheive this "sanctification". Christ was born so that i may be happy. I've been happier than I've ever been and it is thanks to the atonement of Jesucristo.

La Iniciativa Ha Nacido Un Salvador realmente es divino. Encontramos un investigador muy bueno gracias a este iniciativa. [We have found a great investigator thanks to this campaign]

The blanca navidad activity that we are going to have this Saturday is looking good right now and we hope to have about 10 baptisms in the zone. We are all excited and though we miss our families, the spirit of Christ is bouying us up.

Mostly spanish post - Dec 16

Mi mama siempre decía, " All roads go to the temple". Esto es un verdad que estoy espesando a comprender.

La zona va bien y estamos felices por los cambios. Este cambio tenemos planeado bautizar a muchos entonces vamos a ver que sucede! Vamos a seguir orando y buscando la guía del espíritu santo.

Prideful Bee (Abeja Orgullosa)

Yesterday my companion and i were able to share a musical number with our ward. It was an arrangement of "O come o come Emmanuel". It really filled the room with the spirit. The testimonies were really spiritual too. The most amazing miracle is that 2 of our families we have been teaching came! In the morning we went for one of our families and they just weren’t answering the door... after a while the dad finally came out and told us that they would meet us there. At this point we were pretty bummed because whenever they say that they usually don’t come. But, during the sacrament meeting they walked in and my heart almost stopped! It’s a family of 4 and 3 are of the age to be baptized. Frida, the eldest daughter of the family also came with us two weeks ago, but this week it was the whole family! They all loved it too. The father of the family, Jorge, really enjoyed everything and they stayed all 3 hours. Martin another one of our investigators just came for his 4th Sunday and he is really excited to get baptized. We should be baptizing him the 26th of December. Miracles happen every day. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much it’s difficult to understand.

I had a funny story this morning too. Well my companion and I are going to the gym every morning and because it is pretty far away we need to run there. Well on the way back I saw this black thing fly into my leg and then it started to chase me. I started running faster and faster but it got to me and stung my leg! haha It was just a bee.

Thankfully I’m not allergic! I was kind of scared because I still wasn’t sure if I was or not. I titled this email "prideful bee" because I felt like the little guy was being a little prideful... I mean I was just running along and it ran into me and just decided to sting me! But I can probably make a talk about this because I can compare this to prideful people. In the end the prideful bee just dies.... Overall it was an exciting morning.

love you all,

November 30th Post

This week went by pretty fast because we were busy preparing things for the Christmas activity, which turned out to be a success! In the Christmas activity I was reflecting on the importance of Christ in each one of our lives. Fortunately during the talleres (workshops), I was assigned to talk about how Christ was humble throughout his life and this helped me apply things from his life to mine.

One example of his humility that I found during my study was during Jesus Christ's suffering in Gethsemane. As Christ was suffering for all of our pains, sicknesses and sins he came over to his apostles and instead of getting mad at them for not being able to stay awake, he begins to teach them. He had so much love for them that he didnt want them to fail. He taught them, "Velad y orad para que no entreis en tentacion"(Matthew 26:41). It was incredible for me to see that even during the most excruciating, humble act known to the history of man, Christ was still looking for opportunities to help those around him. He ALWAYS did the will of the Father. I hope to apply this principle throughout me life, and what better way then to work even harder her in Tapachula!

The zone is doing well. We had more lessons this week than any of the other weeks this transfer even though we lost a lot of work time due to the Christmas activity. This shows that the missionaries are starting to feel the spirit that Christmas brings and that spirit is propelling them to work harder. Elder Jarrett and I really arent that experienced as zone leaders, but him and I are working hard to follow the will of the Father.

Thank you for all of your support! Have a great week!
