Week 33

This week we have started to teach this joven named Cesar and he is looking pretty interested. We had planned to pass by for him in the morning yesterday and when we got there we ran into a little problem.

He has a crazy dog that tries to eat us every time we try to go knock Cesar door and when we got there the dog was right it the alleyway that led to his house. My companion and i didnt really know what to do so we decided to pray to our Heavenly father for help. For the next 20 minutes we were trying different tactics to get passed but none of them works. Elder Smith almost got bitten but thankfully we didn't get injured. We ended up deciding to go get another investigator. The other investigator wasn't there so we walked back toward Cesar's house and saw that the dog had strayed away from his house. So we ran up to Cesar's house to go get him. Even though Cesar wasn't able to come with us in the end i could see that the Lord answered our prayer. It took a little longer than expected, but he answered. I know that the Lord always answers our prayers. Some times we have to take a different route until we can see that he answered our prayer.

Have a great week everybody!

Week 32

We got really wet yesterday in the rain and when it started coming down we just sprinted to our next appointment! Its always fun when i take off my shoes and dump out a stream of water haha The lightning is beautiful down here and we get to see it almost every day.

Well this week we had divisions with elder martinez and Spence which was fun. I went with Elder martinez and he is a good teacher. he has a good spirit about him and we had fun working in our area. We taught the restoration to one of our investigators yesterday and i could just see his eyes light up! He has already been to church once and he is excited to keep learning! I love saying the first vision to people here because it is so powerful. It seems like the adversary always tries to attack the investigator while we are about to say the first vision, with crazy dogs outside, or babies starting to cry or the phone ringing, nonetheless the spirit is always present and it is amazing to see the spirit touch these peoples hearts. The Lord will win in the end and it is our choice is we want to be on his team or not.

Choose the Right always and keep purifying yourselves through the spirit.

Week 31 Pics

Service Day!

Week 31

We were able to bring a lot of less active member to the ward this week which was truly a miracle! Although it didn’t go well getting investigators to church this week the Lord blessed us with another miracle!
I know that the Lord answers our prayers, sometimes not in the way that we may wanted or expected, but he always answers. We also had the opportunity to give a blessing to a very sick man in a comma and we could feel the presence of the Savior by that brother’s side. The priesthood authority that we hold is amazing and though we are imperfect bearers of it, the Lord has given us the blessing to be sanctified by the spirit as we exercise his priesthood power. I remember the part in Alma when a group of men were ordained to this holy priesthood and they too were immensely blessed (Alma 13:12).
Love you all! Have a great week!

Week 30 (or..32 if you count the MTC)

This week we were able to work really hard!

Although we got soaked during the week we had a great time and found 13 new investigators! We had a little 4th of July celebration which was fun! We sang the national anthem in front of a big group of mexican guys (; I've seen the love of our Heavenly Father for each one of his children during the time I've had on my mission.

We always seem to be in the perfect place at the perfect time and i know it is all thanks to the love God has for his children and even though my companion and I are such imperfect instruments in his mighty hands, he guides us with perfection.

Love you all! Have a great week!
