Happy New Year!

Well this last week was pretty busy! We had a lot of things to do, but it all went well! We had an activity as a zone on the 25th and it all worked out really well. We were able to feel the spirit, have a little fun and in the end be more united as a zone, which was the goal of this activity in the first place. During the activity we were able to go sing in the OCC (bus station)  for a bunch of people and it was a good experience. Although we didn't sing very well we could feel the spirit which is what mattered. When we got into the OCC we all stood in our 3 different districts in the bus station and started singing. As we sang we started walking toward one another and all got together by this big Christmas tree they had there. You can just imagine the faces of all the people there haha.

On Saturday we had our Blanca Navidad baptismal devotional. We were only able to get 2 baptisms, but the devotional turned out really well. All of the members said that they loved it! There were about 110 members that came which was outstanding.

President Figueroa is working well with us and we are making some good plans for the commence of this new year of 2016.

I am excited to start this new year. My new years resolution is to love my Heavenly Father with all my heart, might, mind and soul! I am filled with gratitude to know that my heavely father has given me another year of life! Ive learned a lot in this year and hope to learn much more this coming year. 2015 was my full year of service to the Lord so i will always remember it.

As I was reflecting on this year I truly have come to know my savior Jesus Christ. One of my favorite hymns says the following,

"They heard His voice, a voice so mild; It pierced them through and made their souls to quake; They saw Him come, a man in white, The Savior who had suffered for their sake.

They felt the wounds in hands and side, And each could testify; This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the holy Son of God, Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.

This is the Christ, the healer of our souls Who ransomed us with love divine. I read His words, the words He prayed While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane; I feel His love, the price He paid. How many drops of blood were spilled for me? With saints of old in joyful cry I too can testify;

This is the Christ; This is the Christ, the holy Son of God, Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind. This is the Christ, the healer of our souls. Who ransomed us with love divine".

I too bare my testimony that Jesus IS the Christ.
Have a happy new year everyone!

Feliz Navidad and Merry Christmas!

This Christmas season will be by far the best I've had in my life. I am so grateful to be a missionary and have the opportunity to testify of my savior this Christmas season. The spirit is strong. My testimony grows each time I feel the presence of the spirit. I loved the talk last week in the temple dedication of "santificacion".

The spirit of Christ is potent this week and it is helping us acheive this "sanctification". Christ was born so that i may be happy. I've been happier than I've ever been and it is thanks to the atonement of Jesucristo.

La Iniciativa Ha Nacido Un Salvador realmente es divino. Encontramos un investigador muy bueno gracias a este iniciativa. [We have found a great investigator thanks to this campaign]

The blanca navidad activity that we are going to have this Saturday is looking good right now and we hope to have about 10 baptisms in the zone. We are all excited and though we miss our families, the spirit of Christ is bouying us up.

Sending my love from Chiapas Mexico,

Mostly spanish post - Dec 16

Mi mama siempre decía, " All roads go to the temple". Esto es un verdad que estoy espesando a comprender.

La zona va bien y estamos felices por los cambios. Este cambio tenemos planeado bautizar a muchos entonces vamos a ver que sucede! Vamos a seguir orando y buscando la guía del espíritu santo.

Prideful Bee (Abeja Orgullosa)

Yesterday my companion and i were able to share a musical number with our ward. It was an arrangement of "O come o come Emmanuel". It really filled the room with the spirit. The testimonies were really spiritual too. The most amazing miracle is that 2 of our families we have been teaching came! In the morning we went for one of our families and they just weren’t answering the door... after a while the dad finally came out and told us that they would meet us there. At this point we were pretty bummed because whenever they say that they usually don’t come. But, during the sacrament meeting they walked in and my heart almost stopped! It’s a family of 4 and 3 are of the age to be baptized. Frida, the eldest daughter of the family also came with us two weeks ago, but this week it was the whole family! They all loved it too. The father of the family, Jorge, really enjoyed everything and they stayed all 3 hours. Martin another one of our investigators just came for his 4th Sunday and he is really excited to get baptized. We should be baptizing him the 26th of December. Miracles happen every day. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much it’s difficult to understand.

I had a funny story this morning too. Well my companion and I are going to the gym every morning and because it is pretty far away we need to run there. Well on the way back I saw this black thing fly into my leg and then it started to chase me. I started running faster and faster but it got to me and stung my leg! haha It was just a bee.

Thankfully I’m not allergic! I was kind of scared because I still wasn’t sure if I was or not. I titled this email "prideful bee" because I felt like the little guy was being a little prideful... I mean I was just running along and it ran into me and just decided to sting me! But I can probably make a talk about this because I can compare this to prideful people. In the end the prideful bee just dies.... Overall it was an exciting morning.

love you all,

November 30th Post

This week went by pretty fast because we were busy preparing things for the Christmas activity, which turned out to be a success! In the Christmas activity I was reflecting on the importance of Christ in each one of our lives. Fortunately during the talleres (workshops), I was assigned to talk about how Christ was humble throughout his life and this helped me apply things from his life to mine.

One example of his humility that I found during my study was during Jesus Christ's suffering in Gethsemane. As Christ was suffering for all of our pains, sicknesses and sins he came over to his apostles and instead of getting mad at them for not being able to stay awake, he begins to teach them. He had so much love for them that he didnt want them to fail. He taught them, "Velad y orad para que no entreis en tentacion"(Matthew 26:41). It was incredible for me to see that even during the most excruciating, humble act known to the history of man, Christ was still looking for opportunities to help those around him. He ALWAYS did the will of the Father. I hope to apply this principle throughout me life, and what better way then to work even harder her in Tapachula!

The zone is doing well. We had more lessons this week than any of the other weeks this transfer even though we lost a lot of work time due to the Christmas activity. This shows that the missionaries are starting to feel the spirit that Christmas brings and that spirit is propelling them to work harder. Elder Jarrett and I really arent that experienced as zone leaders, but him and I are working hard to follow the will of the Father.

Thank you for all of your support! Have a great week!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Everything went well this week. We went on split with Tapachula and I went with Elder Legorreta. Elder Legorreta is pure and full of love. I enjoy spending the day with him. We worked hard and a few youth accepted our invitation to be baptized during the day. Elder Legorreta that he is fine in his new area, but is still getting used to it. It is still raining like every day but I think it will stop soon.

My companion and I have been fasting and praying a lot to achieve a goal which we set as a zone, to baptize 2 families on the 26th of December! We are going to set up an activity as a stake and call it "white Christmas", where we will have a lot of music, videos, talks and baptisms!! We will be working hard to make it work and see results. We have a few strong investigators and their names are Martin, Freeda y Azul! All 3 can be baptized on our December 26 activity or maybe even sooner. We will see how they progress. We don't have a ward mission leader but if we baptize Martin, he can be called to that position. He is smart and ready..
Elder Jarrett and I set a goal of reaching 200 contacts for this week and we made it! Actually it was becuase our Heavenly Father made it possible because he placed a large number of persons in our paths in spite of all the rain that has been falling.. Last night we only needed 4 more contacts and we only had a 1/2 hour left in the day.It was raining and no one was in the street. But I prayed so that 4 people could just appear and then, we found them. Heavenly Father answered my prayer quick!

This week I am so thankful for the gospel and everything it has given me. This week I am going to thank Heavenly Father for everything.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Week 49 Pics with Elder Jarrett (new Companion!)

Week 49!

Well the first week back here in Tapachula has been really enjoyable. Tapachula still smells the same and the heat is strong as ever! The rain is helping us keep cool though. Elder Jarrett is an amazing missionary and he and I are relying a lot on our Heavenly Father. We have been praying before making practically any decision. I feel like this will help us be more in tune with the spirit and will allow us to discern the will of our Heavenly Father.

We put a goal as a zone to be able to baptize 2 families this 25th of December! We are going to call it "Blanca Navidad". I am excited to work with more faith and see the miracles that our Father has in store for this zone.

It has been really special seeing some people that I know from my last ward here in Central. The good thing is I know quite a bit about this zone, so it should go well as far as knowing directions. There have been some hermanas in the zone that are sick, but they are doing a lot better now. We are all excited to work hard this week.

Lots of pics ! and a Baptism !

Week 48

Well these 4 transfers in Juarez have helped me grow and become more converted to this wonderful gospel.

I am excited for the new opportunity I have to serve as zone leader in my old zone Tapachula Mexico! It should be a wonderful experience and a challenging one as well.

This week we had the privilege of baptizing Amauri Jimenez Garcia. Amauri is the 18 young man that we met a couple weeks ago that was waiting for us in the church building. Amauri was truly special to work with. He has a lot of faith in the Lord and a strong desire to follow him. Previously he had plans to go around preaching in all the other churches, but over these last weeks the spirit has worked within him and taught him that there is order in the church of Christ and that he will learn over time how he is meant to preach the gospel. This experience has shown me that the field truly is "white and all ready to harvest".

I am grateful for the Holy Ghost that teaches TRUTH to our hearts. If it weren't for this third member of the godhead it would be impossible to know the truth of all things and become like our Heavenly Father.

In the baptismal service Amauris little sister and mom came and both of them felt this spirit in their hearts. His sisters name is Itzel and she came to church yesterday too! She says that she loved it and wants to come more and more! She accepted a baptismal date for the 12th of December! I am impressed by the missionary work Amauri is already doing in him family! He will make a great missionary.

Week 47

This was the week of training where Elder Juarez had to take the initiative in everything, teaching, planning, etc. It went really well and I feel that Elder Juarez made some good progress and he gained more confidence. He has a lot of work ahead of him to improve initiating his contacts, but he did really well this week.

We gave some service to this lady taking out a lot of dirt from the sidewalk by her house and that was pretty fun. After about an hour of work we were pretty sweety! The good thing though is she let us teach a little bit to her and we have another appointment to teach her more today. Service is a good way of finding new people to teach.

This week I studied about repentance in the teachings of Ezra Taft Benson and it really impacted me. I felt the spirit strongly reading his words and i found answers to a lot of questions ive had! One point that he brought up that i will always remember is that the first step to true repentance is recognizing that Gods plan is the ONLY way to bring true everlasting happiness. There is no other way. It is interesting because i also read the story of the prodigals son this week and realized that many times we act like the brother of the prodigal's son. When the prodigal's son came back his brother was angry because they threw him a party even though he wasted all of his dads money having "fun"... that's where we fall into the error. Thinking that sin is happiness or "fun". His dad taught him, and us, a wise lesson when he said that his son was "muerto" but was now alive again! Wickedness truly never was and never will be happiness.

Love you all!

Week 46 pics

Week 46

(This week went well, in spite of the difficulties we are working hard and happy to be in this work! Yesterday our church attendance was 77! It has not been that high since I have been here. At last, quite a few less active members, which we have been working with came to Church! Maybe it was because the schedule changed which helped them out, ha ha?)

We found a family this last week and they are all looking really good! Its a family of 6 and one of the kids is already a member. Only 3 of the kids were able to go yesterday , but their parents should be going next week. It was really amazing because of of the daughters is only 7 and she is already really excited to learn more about the gospel. When we were walking to church her older brother (12 years old), with is arm around his little sister guiding her to church, asks me, "you guys are going to baptize the 28th of November right?", I said yes and then he said, "that's good because Jimena turns 8 on the 27th of November"! I couldn't believe it! This family of 5 will be accepting the gospel for the first time and 1 of them is coming back after a long time of being away.

The Lord is truly preparing people to receive the restored gospel, we just need to keep praying and looking for them.

This is week 11 of training Elder Juarez. It should go well.

Week 45 Pics

Week 45

This week we experienced a miracle! On Saturday morning when Elder Juarez and I were saying a prayer before leaving our apartment the phone rang, i decided to answer it and let Elder Juarez finish the prayer, when he finished praying I asked who it was and the person calling said that he was waiting at the church and wanted to talk to us. I really didn't remember who it was, but we decided to go immediately there to see him. When we got there there were two workers there that let us in and we found a young man sitting in the church building alone with a restoration pamphlet in his hand. After a little bit of remembering and questions we finally remembered where we met him. His name is Amauri and it turns out that we had contacted him and his friend 3 days earlier. We didn't remember him because we mainly focused on talking to his friend because Amauri said that he had already talked to the missionaries and he wasn't interested.

Turns out that Amauri's friend gave the pamphlet that we gave to him and then told him to read it. So in those 3 days Amauri studied the pamphlet again and received a lot of revelation from Heavenly father. Amauri said that God told him that everything in the pamphlet was true and that he needed to get baptized in this church.

He told us that that morning he decided to go and find us so using the direction of the church that we wrote on the back of the pamphlet he was guided to the church building. When he entered the building he asked one of the workers there if he could use his phone. The worker said that he didn't have any "saldo" (credit) to make any phone calls or messages. Amauri said that he was going to try and call anyways, so the worker let him have the phone and Amauri called our number. By some miracle when he called our number, TELCEL (the phone company) gave him a free 1 minute phone call! With that minute he was able to contact us. With that being said, when we showed up that Saturday morning he was truly PREPARED by God and was able to understand and accept everything that we said to him. 1 year ago he had listened to the missionaries and for different reasons didnt accept the gospel, but all that time the Lord was preparing him to accept it now! He had already attended Church 3 times in the past and because he is so smart he was able to understand and remember everything that we tell him and everything that he reads. After talking for a while we committed him to come to church and be baptized this Saturday! Well...we really didn't even have to invite him because he invited himself haha. He said that he needed to get baptized as SOON as possible!

He got to church yesterday even before Elder Juarez and I got there and had already studied the Plan of Salvation and Gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlets that we gave him the day before. And when I said that he studied it - I mean STUDIED! He remembered everything and ended up teaching those two lessons to Elder Juarez and I!...haha

Amauri is truly a miracle and his life is going to change a lot. He was really deep into the world, but now he is going to use his intelligence to do good instead of bad. He has some extreme ideas about going to every other church in the world and trying to bring everyone into the church of God, but we are going to help him direct his plans a little better because his plans right now are a little interesting to say the least. Overall, I know that God sent him to us and we are going to have the privilege to baptize him this Saturday. I know that the spirit directs everyone to the TRUTH.

Week 44 Pics

Week 44

This week went by well and we were able to work a lot with the members. They have been helping us a lot more recently! We had a miracle this week too! We received a reference from a sister in our ward of a young women named Monserrat who has been attending Church with this family in another ward! She lives right next to the members in our ward and is already friends with the daughters in the members family. When we taught her on Saturday she seemed really interested in the restoration of the gospel and accepted a baptismal date and everything! She also committed to come to stake conference and she was able to make it! She is already progressing and we just met her! Im excited to see her progress and see how the gospel changes her life!

Elder Juarez is progressing very well in his teaching. I am going to keep encouraging him to contact and keep helping him learn more.

Week 43 Pics

Baptism of Yarely Estudillo Vasquez  !

Week 43 !! Baptism !!

This week can only be described with one word: Gratitude. Conference was full of the spirit! My desire to become more like Christ has grown and i received answers to my prayers. The 3 new apostles are truly called of God. It is amazing to see how much faith our beloved prophet Thomas S Monson has.

After conference yesterday evening we had the amazing opportunity to baptize Yarely Estudillo Vazquez!

Yarely is an amazing woman. Although she is only 21 years old she is spiritually strong and receptive to the spirit. The story of getting to know her began a little over a month ago and the experience was truly a miracle. She is married to a less active who is also family of someone from my ward in Tapachula! We first met him about 3 months ago when he came to church to give his two sons their baby blessings. Saying that he was less active he was not able to perform the blessing, but was still extremely grateful to have it done. I could feel his desire to come back to the fold so i passed the reference to the sisters in our ward. When Elder Juarez and i adopted the area of the sisters last transfer we decided to go find him. We found his house, but only his wife was present. We started to get to know her and found out that she wasn't a member! We taught her right there and she accepted everything! Yarely had truly been prepared.

After getting to know Yarely more in the following weeks we found out that in the past other missionaries had taught her, but for some a variety of reasons never got baptized. The Lord was preparing her over the years and I feel that in particular she was finally ready to receive the gospel after a big trial she recently had.

About 2 months ago her little baby received 2 terrible sicknesses at the same time! Chingungunia and Barisela. This baby was on the verge of dying when the bishop and the hermano Tito Caballero came to there house to give the baby a blessing. Thanks to the power of the priesthood and the faith that these 2 brothers had, the baby was healed in just under a week!

After hearing this experience, I KNOW that trials are meant for our benefit. Yarely was able to see the power of the priesthood before we came to her doorstep and so when we arrived, she already had a testimony of the priesthood power of God. That being said the teaching was fairly easy because she accepted everything that we taught! She only had one doubt about the church that impeded her to make the final decision to be baptized. Her doubt was centered in the history of the church when polygamy was practiced. I knew that this doubt could only be resolved if she gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon. So on September 26th she finally committed that she would pray and ask God, our eternal father, in the name of Christ if it was all true. The 28th of September we came back and asked her about her prayer. She responded, "Cuando yo ore, todas mis dudas fueron borrados. No puedo explicar lo que senti". The spirit filled the room as we testified that what she felt was the spirit.

With all of her doubts gone she decided to descend into the waters of baptism and follow the example of Jesus Christ. After I performed the ordinance I knelt down in the bathroom and just prayed and cried thanking God for the amazing miracle he showed us. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us. I know that his Son died for us so that we too may become perfected as He was.

Week 42 Pix

Week 42

This week was a good end to the transfer. We worked well with the members this week and they were able to help us get some investigators to church. Yesterday we were able to take a new investigator to church who really has a desire to get baptized and follow Christ. Her name is Yarmi Rebecca. Elder Smith and i had taught her in the past, but she was never able to go to church because of work. That being said, we had to stop visiting her for a while, but she went to the clases de autosuficiencia that we told her to go to and she found a job where she doesn't have to work on Sundays anymore! We ended up receiving the reference to go visit her again and she was more than willing to go to church. We passed for her at 7:30 in the morning and she was ready to go! It was truly a blessing to see that the Lord has been preparing her to accept this message.

We had an activity this last Saturday that was called, "Tarde de Peliculas". We didnt have very many member show up, but 3 of our investigators came and really enjoyed it, even though it was a disaster... The activity was supposed to start at 5, but didnt end up starting until 7! Due to technical difficulties and lack of electricity. Everything ended up working out well and im just grateful that Gustavo, Adriana and Yareli were able to go.

Elder Juarez is progressing well and is excited to be here on the mission. Im glad that i get another transfer with him to finish his training.

Im exciting for general conference this week! I have no doubt in my heart that there is a living prophet on the earth today and his name is Thomas S. Monson. It will be amazing to see the 3 new apostles. The church is true. Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration. Jesus Christ Lives. This is an amazing work that I am apart of here in Chiapas.

Week 41 pics

Week 41

Este semana fue increible! El Señor bendicio a mi compañero y yo muchisimo! We worked hard this week and kept seeing how the Lord had truly prepared one of our investigators. Her name is Yareli and she is the wife of a less active, who is now reactivating as well! She has already attended twice and ever since we have gone to teach her she accepts EVERYTHING! She reads every time we leave her with something to study and reads even more sometimes. She was able to attend yesterday as well and is really looking promising. We have her baptismal date for the 3rd of October, but we realized that that day is general conference so we will either have the baptism this week or do it on the 10th.

I know that there are transfers next week, but i hope that the Lord will allow me to see this baptism. If not, then I will still be happy for the wonderful progress she has mad in the Gospel! You can just see the light shine in her eyes as she hears about this amazing message.

Also, Kevin, one of our other investigators was able to come this week! He is family of the bishop in our ward and already has attended twice with us here not including many other times beforehand. He is also another investigator where I can see the gospel changing him. He is 15 years old and from the first time that we taught him until now he has changed a lot! His baptism will also be this week or on the 10th.

2 other investigators were finally able to come as well! Gustavo and Adriana are the fruit of 2 different revelations that president george had. We found them at the start of the project "la mujer samaritana" and it is also a family of 3, all of which our mission president asked us to focus on this month! It was a reference we received from la hermana lili caballero. They are very excited to keep learning and have a baptismal date for the 24th of October.

Overall, this week was full of blessings and miracles. We are going to keep working hard and see what the Lord has planned for these amazing children of God.

Week 40 !

We also had some amazing miracles! On Monday Elder juarez and I felt that we needing to visit this one less active brother for a long time and we were finally able to go to his house. We ended up meeting his wife who isn't a member and we had a lesson with her which was amazing! She accepted everything and even has a fecha bautismal! She already had 2 assistance's in the past and the missionaries have tried to teach her but she was never very interested, until now! Her baby was really sick with "chinkungunia" and "barisela" (sorry for the spelling) and the bishop went over to give the baby a blessing. Turns out the baby is all better now from the sickness! I feel that this was the "foot in the door" and the perfect time to start teaching her the gospel. Also there is this other investigator that we have that is very sick with diabetes, but he still made it to the activity thanks to our bishop that was able to take him in him car! Truly we have seen the love that our heavenly father has for my companion and i because the 3 investigators that had a baptismal date we were able to go to the activity!

The cultural activity on Saturday was amazing for the re-dedication of the Mexico City temple. I felt the spirit as i saw the time and effort the people sacrificed to make it an enjoyable experience. The focus of the play was the Book of Mormon and Temples which was perfect for our investigators! Yesterday Was the re-dedication of the temple and we were able to go to all 3 sessions! I felt the spirit very strongly and rededicated MYSELF to make the temple a priority in my life. There were some AMAZING talks given by Jeffrey R Holland and Pres. Eyring! Two powerhouses! (:

We are going to keep working hard and baptize someone here soon! The assistance of the ward is still going up as well! Love you guys!

Week 39 (Translation)

Once again we weren't able to get any of our investigators to church. But we aren't going to let that get us down (: We saw a miracle in our ward with the attendance, going above 60 again! It's never been that high in any of my time here.

We had a special experience contacting someone this past Friday in front of his workshop and, he turned out to be a member of the Church! He has even been a branch president!

So we asked a sister in the ward to please take him to Church and he went! He was excited to get active again and now he has an interview with the Bishop this Wednesday.

We also found a married couple that were less active. We went to pick them up in the morning and took them to the chapel. This was great because we could see how happy they were.
The ward is stronger now and I believe that the Lord is going to bless us with a golden investigator this week. We will keep searching and planting seeds and this is such a beautiful work we are engaged in.

I am also thankful to the Lord because when we went to the Temple last Thursday, three members of the ward were there. They have helped us a lot and it was great to see them there. We will keep striving and using the member more this week to help even more investigators get to the chapel.

gracias por todo familia y amigos! (:

Week 38 pics

Week 38

This week we were able to raise the assistance in our ward Juarez to the highest its gotten since I've been here! This was definitely a blessing and it was nice to see some of the less actives that we taught last week show up! I read an amazing scripture in the bible this week about Love. It is in 1 John 4:7-9.

I feel eternally grateful for the love that our heavenly father had when he let is only begotten son suffer and die for each and every one of us. That was the ULTIMATE act of love. With the amount of love that our Heavenly Father has given us, it is interesting how all of his children do not fully trust in him. None of us will truly comprehend the love our father has given us in this life, but I feel that as we strive to understand the significance of the atonement, we will learn how to trust in our father.

My companion and I are getting along really well and I am learning a lot from him. Our area is not seeing so many progressing investigators so i think that we are going to drop a lot of them and keep looking. It is a pretty large area so there is a lot of potential.

I think that we are going to the temple this week so i am really excited!

Love you all! have a good week!

Week 37 pics!

Week 37

This has been a fun week with my new companion, Elder Juarez. He is from Matamoros Tamaulipas which is really close to valle hermoso where my amazingly beautiful mother is from (: He is 19 almost 20 years old and he loves music. He plays the saxophone and clarinet! He is a really good missionary and came well prepared. He has already made good progress this week. He has been pretty tired, but that is normal starting out the mission. I have just been forcing myself to be happy all the time so that he wont ever get down! It is a good plan and we have been enjoying our time together!

This week we are going to concentrate more on the sisters area that just got added to ours. One amazing story this week was when we went to Sister Lili Caballeros house to share something with her and then ask for some references. The lesson went well and we decided to do the prayer kneeling down. As soon as we finished the prayer two women knocked on the door saying that they were looking for jobs and so Hermana Lili started to talk to them about different opportunities she knew about and then she just started talked about the church with them and she presented them to us right there on the spot, invited them in and had a lesson with them. 2 references literally given to us right after praying for them. They both live in our area as well. Our mission president just started a project called Mujer Samaritana, which included visiting active members to get references. Its amazing how the Lord blesses us when we follow the revelation our leaders receive. Another shout out to Letty, my beautiful mother, is that she gave me the same idea a long time ago and it has really been working (: I love all of you guys, especially my mami(: haha Have a good week!

Week 36 Pics

Week 36

This week we saw the fruits of our labors!  We were working really hard to have investigators in the reunion sacramental and we decided to work extra with the members . We had a lot of investigators committed to coming to church so we were both excited to see who was going to follow through. We showed up to church and we had 2 investigators that showed up to church and on time too! On of them is Kevin, sobrino del obispo. The other is the mom of a recent convert that we have been working with. Kevin is a good kid and has a baptismal date for the 19th of September! We have only met with him a couple of times, but he seems really receptive.

I am excited for the opportunity that I have to train a new elder here in the mission. The area is now pretty big since we have the sisters area now, but it should be fun! I am not district leader any more because they shut down the sister area and gave it to us, but i am super excited for the opportunity to just focus on my area (:

Week 35 Pics

Week 35

We ended up going to this waterfall place near a city called Coita for our activity. It was really beautiful there and it wasn't that hot!

This week was a week full of surprises. When i was on divisions with elder Garcia we got a reference of a family of 6! We went over to teach them and as we got there the first thing that the mom said was that she didn't have time to listen to us, but after some persuasion... we got here to accept listening to a hymn. As we sang the hymn we could feel the spirit and it opened up the door to allow us to share a message with here. She loved the hymn and is now interested in coming to church! Music is amazing, especially is there is a good message behind it.
This is the last week of the transfer and i am almost positive that my companion is leaving. I hope that my new companion likes working hard because we are going to go crazy over here! I love talking to people and making them smile. Sometimes we find people on the street that are feeling down and as we start talking about Christ and his atonement they completely change! The gospel of Jesucristo is the key to happiness that lasts(:
Some of my favorite verses in the Book of Mormon are the following:

Alma 37:44-47! I invite everyone to read those verses (:

love you all!
